Terms of Service
Last Updated: 14 August 2026
By downloading or using Private Stash, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Acceptable Use
Private Stash is a tool for storing your own credentials and sensitive information on your own device. You agree to use the app only for lawful purposes and only to store information you have the right to hold. You agree not to misrepresent the app, distribute modified copies as if they were official, or use the app in connection with any unlawful activity.
Good-faith security research is welcome. The app's cryptographic core is published for independent review, and responsible disclosure of security findings to security@hqapps4u.com is encouraged and appreciated.
Liability
Private Stash is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
The app is designed so that your data is encrypted on your device with keys that only you hold. As a consequence of this design, if you lose both your master password and your recovery code, your data cannot be recovered — by you, by us, or by anyone else. You are responsible for remembering your master password, keeping your recovery code safe, and maintaining backups using the app's export feature.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, HQ Apps Development shall not be liable for any loss of data, loss of profits, or any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app — including losses resulting from forgotten credentials, lost recovery codes, device loss or failure, device compromise, or operating system behavior. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app shall not exceed the amount you paid for it.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
Termination
You may stop using Private Stash at any time by uninstalling it. Because all data is stored locally, uninstalling the app deletes its data from your device; any encrypted export files you created remain wherever you saved them.
We may discontinue distribution, updates, or support for the app at any time. Because Private Stash works entirely offline and does not depend on any server, copies you have already installed will continue to function. Provisions that by their nature should survive — including the Liability and Governing Law sections — survive any termination.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Texas, United States.
